Software Engineer Manager - Device Lifecycle Efficiency

Software Engineering Managers at Google provide technical leadership to major projects and manage teams of engineers. They contribute to product strategy and help develop their teams. The role involves working across various areas such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, data compression, and user interface design. The Platforms and Ecosystems product area includes Google's computing software platforms across environments like desktop, mobile, and applications, providing enterprises and end users the ability to utilize and manage services at scale.

• Manage engineers across multiple teams and locations.
• Oversee a large product budget.
• Oversee deployment of large-scale projects internationally.
• Lead the Device Lifecycle Efficiency team responsible for managing hardware processes and workflows across the lifecycle of hardware devices from proposals, bring-up, launch, through end-of-life.
• Develop backend systems and frontends for hundreds of users in different roles to guide devices from concept to marketplace and other user journeys.
• Support internal users and dozens of external partners including original equipment manufacturers, original device manufacturers, SoCs, component and hardware vendors.
• Shape the evolution of the team to support the next generation of ChromeOS based on Android.
