Level Designer

Elsewhere Entertainment is developing a new IP and is part of Activision, a leading worldwide developer, publisher, and distributor of interactive entertainment and products, known for franchises such as Call of Duty®, Crash Bandicoot™, Tony Hawk’s™ Pro Skater™, and Guitar Hero™.

• Proven experience as a professional Level Designer or equivalent training and experience.
• Experience with technical game design including implementation in tools, game logic, and visual scripting.
• Understanding and execution of fundamentals of Open World Level Design in modern game engines.
• Ability to collaborate and thrive as part of a creative team, comfortable with self-critique and accepting feedback.
• Eagerness to work independently and take ownership of tasks in a highly confidential environment.
• Creativity in problem solving with a mindful approach to team collaboration.
• Experience pitching level design concepts clearly and in detail through strong written and verbal skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience with AAA games.
• Major recognition in the field.
• Having made own game as a side or indie project.
• Experience in adjacent fields such as content design, narrative design, environment art, programming.
• Architectural experience.
• Experience playing or crafting pen and paper, board, or trading card games.
• Interest in Open World RPGs.

• Collaborate with design leadership and artists to craft unique gameplay spaces combining flow and visual composition.
• Design, prototype, implement, and polish in-game spaces and content including level geometry, enemy encounters, and gameplay activities using proprietary tools.
• Work within multidisciplinary teams to create open world locations for quests and activities.
• Provide constructive feedback to peers and contribute to team-wide design discussions.
• Manage own tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Communicate progress and challenges across disciplines.
