Senior Data Engineer

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience with ETL/ELT tools and data curation.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong data warehousing concepts and SQL skills, including dimensional modeling and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Snowflake or similar tools for data ingestion.
• Commitment to enhancing knowledge to improve existing applications.
• Strong desire to understand the "why" behind business needs and processes.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with DBT, Pyspark, and Airflow.
• Knowledge of Spark, Hadoop 2.0, and its ecosystem.
• Experience with automation tools/frameworks like Git and Jenkins.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum Teams.

• Apply a product-focused mindset to understand business requirements and architect scalable, extensible systems.
• Participate in or lead design reviews to evaluate and select the most suitable technologies.
• Develop ETL processes and data processing workflows using technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Apache Spark.
• Build data quality tracking mechanisms to measure data quality, detect data issues and anomalies, and address changes in data ingestion and processing.
• Review code for best practices including accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
• Establish best engineering practices through design/code reviews and process improvements.
