Senior Java Developer with Kotlin

Our Client dominates the Polish e-commerce arena as the market leader since 1999 with a user base of over 20 million. The client has a talented IT team of over 1,000 employees focusing on developing their own cutting-edge technologies. Jit Team has partnered with this client since spring 2021, providing multiple autonomous software development teams designing platform components through micro-services. The project involves delivering software at a massive scale with state-of-the-art technologies and tools.

• Proven experience leading a software development team (people leadership and delivery ownership)
• Minimum 6 years of experience with Java
• Experience with Kotlin and Python
• Ability to contribute to architecture decisions and conduct high-quality code reviews
• Experience in ensuring engineering excellence (clean code, testing strategy, CI/CD, production readiness)
• Strong ownership mindset and accountability for outcomes, quality, and reliability
• Ability to translate business goals into clear scopes, priorities, and execution plans
• Experience working in a cross-functional environment (Product, UX, Business)
• Very good communication skills and knowledge of English

• Background in e-commerce, marketplace, or consumer platforms
• Experience in mobile development
• Track record in AI-powered projects

• Lead and develop the Language Intelligence engineering team
• Take end-to-end ownership of delivery, quality, and reliability
• Drive architectural decisions and technical direction
• Ensure engineering excellence standards (code quality, testing, CI/CD, production readiness)
• Collaborate closely with Product, UX, and Business stakeholders
• Translate business needs into technical solutions and execution plans
• Participate in product discovery as a technical partner
• Conduct code reviews and support the team in solving complex technical challenges

• Salary: 1000-1300 PLN/day on B2B
• Elastic hybrid work mode (1 day per week from Gdynia/Warszawa/Kraków/Rzeszów)
