Data/AI Engineer

The role involves participation in a comprehensive migration project of a data platform from Cloudera (on premise) to a modern architecture based on Google Cloud Platform, including implementation of new Data/AI solutions in cloud for the banking sector.

• Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
• Solid experience in migration projects from on premise to cloud.
• Strong Python skills for ETL processes, data pipelines, and automation.
• Good knowledge of Java, especially for data processing (Spark, Beam).
• Experience designing and implementing complex batch and streaming data pipelines in production.
• Ability to design data solution architecture in GCP considering scalability, security, and cost.
• Practical knowledge of orchestration, CI/CD, and automation tools (Airflow, Git, Terraform or similar).
• English language proficiency allowing fluent communication (preferably C1 level).
• Experience working in international environments and projects with external technology partners.
• Experience analyzing legacy solutions and recommending target cloud architectures.
• Knowledge of Data Governance, data security, and access control in cloud environments.
• Ability to work independently and make important technical decisions while valuing teamwork.
• High communication skills.

• Define migration path including strategy, approach, and technical recommendations.
• Transfer and modernize processes to GCP services.
• Implement Data/AI solutions using Dataproc, Dataflow, BigQuery, Cloud Composer, and automation tools.
• Collaborate with Data team and client partners in an international environment.
• Work remotely with 2-3 days onboarding in Katowice and occasional workshops.
